Editing Announcements
If you created an announcement or have the appropriate permissions, you can edit it to update information or correct errors.
Who Can Edit Announcements?
You can edit announcements if:
You created the announcement
You have management permissions at the announcement's scope level
Editing a Published Announcement
From the Announcement Details
Open the announcement you want to edit
Tap the edit icon in the top-right corner
The edit screen opens with your announcement content
Making Changes
You can update any of the following:
Cover Image:
Tap the image to change it
Choose a new photo from camera or gallery
Crop as desired
Or remove the image entirely
Title:
Tap the title field
Edit the text
Keep it clear and concise
Content:
Tap the description section
The rich text editor opens
Make your changes using the formatting toolbar
Tap back when finished
Image Gallery:
Add new images with the Add button
Remove images by tapping the X on each
Images display in horizontal scroll
File Attachments:
Add new files with the Add button
Remove files by tapping the X on each
Files display in a list
Metadata:
Toggle pin status on/off
Update or remove expiration date
Scope cannot be changed after creation
Saving Your Changes
Review your edits
Tap the Save button at the bottom
A loading indicator appears
You'll see "Announcement updated successfully!"
The updated announcement is immediately visible to members
Editing a Draft
Drafts can be edited before publishing:
Go to My Drafts from the drawer menu
Tap on the draft you want to edit
Make your changes
Choose an option:
Save Draft - Keep as unpublished draft
Publish - Make it live immediately

What Happens When You Edit?
Published announcements - Changes are immediately visible to all members
Drafts - Changes are saved but remain unpublished
Modification timestamp - Updated to show when last edited
View count - Preserved (not reset)
Existing attachments - Preserved unless you remove them
Best Practices for Editing
Review before saving - Double-check your changes
Add a note - If making significant changes, consider adding a note in the content
Update expiration - Extend the date if the announcement remains relevant
Check links - Verify all links still work after editing
Test attachments - Make sure new attachments uploaded correctly
Tips
Minor edits - Fix typos and update information as needed
Major changes - Consider creating a new announcement instead of heavily editing
Save often - Drafts auto-save your changes
Preview - Review the full announcement before publishing edits
Troubleshooting
Can't find the edit icon
You may not have permission to edit this announcement
You can only edit announcements you created or have management access to
Changes aren't saving
Check your internet connection
Ensure title and content aren't empty
Try again in a few moments
Lost my changes
If you navigated away, changes may not have been saved
Always tap Save before leaving the edit screen
